Different Youth Leadership Positions

Senior Patrol Leader-

The youth leader with the most responsibility in a troop. The senior patrol leader is not a member of a patrol. They will run campouts, and troop and PLC meetings. Sees that the troop runs in an orderly and timely manner. 

Assistant Senior Patrol Leader-

The second highest ranking youth leader in the troop. The assistant senior patrol leader acts as the senior patrol leader when called upon. They will assist other youth leaders in the troop.

Patrol Leader-

Takes responsibility for the patrol’s activities and represents the patrol as a member of the PLC. Will appoint an assistant patrol leader to serve with them.

Troop Guide-

Responsible for welcoming new and young scouts and helping them along the start of their rank advancement through First Class rank

Scribe

Manages the weekly newsletter, PLC agendas and minutes, and attendance.

Quartermaster-

 Manages Troop equipment and sees that it is in good working order.

Order of the Arrow Troop Representative-

Represents the Order of the Arrow to the Troop and the Troop to the Lodge/Chapter. Makes sure the Troop has a presence at Order of the Arrow events.

Webmaster-

Manages the Troop Website.

Junior Assistant Scoutmaster

Must be at least 16 years old and appointed by a Scoutmaster. Serves similar to an assistant scoutmaster.

Den Chief

Connection between Cub Scout Dens and the Troop. Works with and guides Cub Dens.

Chaplain Aide

Leads prayers and promotes the religious awards program.

Bugler

Completes duties and plays the bugle on campouts as assigned.
