Order of the Arrow

The Order of the Arrow (OA) is the National Honor Society of Scouts BSA. The Order of the Arrow recognizes Scouts and adult leaders who best exemplify the ideals of Scouting, the Scout Oath, and the Scout Law. The Order of the Arrow focuses on the outdoors, service projects, and leadership.

Troop 77 is a part of Sasquesahanough Lodge 11, the OA lodge which is a part of the New Birth of Freedom Council. Our Troop is very active in the Order of the Arrow, and have had multiple Chapter Chiefs, committee chairs, and a Lodge Chief serve the Lodge all from our Troop.

To join the Order of the Arrow, you must:

  • Be First Class rank or higher
  • Participate in 15 nights of camping with Troop 77 in the 2 years leading up to your election to the Order of the Arrow- including exactly one long-term camp (at least 5 consecutive nights), such as summer camp
  • Be elected by the scouts of Troop 77 at our annual OA elections in February-March
